Christmas celebration

In Christmas celebration of Rantasalmi Upper Secondary School, December 20, 2004, we saw again one of a great performances. The senior class acted out "Tiernapojat". The entire school watched this performance enthusiastically! Especially the rhythm section was so devoted to its music that it stole the whole show every now and then.

The songs gave us an experience that can only be achieved in a live performance. It is very good this was not documented. A recording would have been only a pale reflection of this mighty atmosphere.
Performers: Joona Mikkilä, Outi Mähönen, Sanna Nykänen and Jonna Nyrhinen. The rhythm group: Sami Harju and Asko Metsola.

The plays performed by teachers draw more applauses for the joy of acting than for finished performances. The teachers were filled with joy earlier in the evening too, when they had their first and  last rehearsal.

The Christmas Night Mass
December 20, 2004

The lyrics and melodies of the Christmas Night Mass were composed by the students and conducted by Marja Ikonen, the music teacher. We heard brilliant compositions and beautiful lyrics.
Composers and performers: Hanna Asukas, Saija Hirn, Kaisa Kinnunen, Suvi Kokkonen, Senni Lyytikäinen, Jasmiini Mölkänen.

Every Night Mass is a unique situation. Not only because it is performed by the composers but it is most probably performed only this one time. The world premiere and the farewells.

These are the moments we will remember.
